Independent Contractors:

  • Must be 18 or older.
  • An Apple or Android smartphone with active data.
  • Your own bicycle, e-bike, or valid transport.
  • You need your valid driver's license (front and back), a proof of vehicle registration and the insurance coverage.
  • A Belgian ID/passport (and valid e-card) plus proof of work eligibility if you are a non-EEA citizen.
  • Valid VAT number

Employed Couriers:

  • Must be 18 or older.
  • An Apple or Android smartphone with active data.
  • Willingness to ride (Takeaway.com can provide company e-bikes and gear at select hub locations).
  • A Belgian ID/passport (and valid e-card) plus proof of work eligibility if you are a non-EEA citizen.

Independent Contractors: Yes, absolutely! As an independent contractor, you are your own boss. You are free to deliver for other platforms simultaneously, accept or decline order offers, and manage your own schedule however you like.

Employed Couriers: No, during your scheduled shift hours, you are dedicated exclusively to Takeaway.com. Outside of your contracted working hours, secondary employment or gig work may be subject to your employment contract guidelines and local labor regulations.

Independent Contractors: You can apply to whatever zone(s) you wish to deliver in! If your preferred zone is closed, you can always choose to work in another location while you wait for your preferred zone to open.

Employed Couriers: You must apply directly for the specific city or hub location where you want to work. Because employee contracts and shift schedules are tied to local hub capacities, we cannot automatically transfer your contract to a different zone if your preferred location is closed.

Independent Contractors: Submitting your weekly availability helps us assign scheduled runs with consistent order flow. However, it isn't mandatory, you can also grab ""open runs"" in the app whenever you feel like hopping online and delivering straight away.

Employed Couriers: Yes, you submit your availability weekly so your hub manager can build your guaranteed work schedule. Once set, your weekly shifts are fixed, ensuring you get your required contracted hours every single week.

Independent Contractors: After registering as a courier, you can find a wide range of Takeaway.com delivery essentials in the courier webshop. Feel free to use your own equipment, however, you must ensure that it meets our minimum safety requirements.

Employed Couriers: To ensure maximum safety and brand consistency on the road, you are required to use and wear the official Takeaway.com gear provided to you, in accordance with our internal guidelines.

As an Independent Courier, you earn per delivery by accepting orders sent to your app, with the potential to boost your earnings. As an Employed Courier, you receive a guaranteed, fixed hourly wage for all your logged hours, even while waiting between orders. Plus, official employee benefits like paid holiday time, sick pay, and statutory perks.
