Money matters – salary, tips & bonuses

As much as we like talking about our work culture, secure contracts, and other great aspects of working as a delivery driver at Takeaway.com, we know that at the end of the day, the pay is what makes the difference. Here is an overview of everything you need to know about salary, tips and bonuses at Takeaway.com.

Base salary, bonuses & tipping

What makes Takeaway.com unique as an employer in the food delivery business in Belgium, is that couriers get paid per hour instead of per delivery. Plus: you get paid per week (or twice a month (depending on the contract type), so you’ll reap the rewards of your work quickly.

By working as a Brand Ambassador, you can earn a base salary per hour, including holiday pay, value of holidays and city allowance. This is without bonuses and tips, so you could earn even more, making it one of the best paying easy jobs to do. In the next few paragraphs, we’ll break down the different components that would make up your salary.

Do Takeaway.com Brand Ambassadors  get bonuses?

On top of the base salary, there’s an allowance of € 0,36 per hour for data & phone use and €0,27/km for own bike use. Punctual Bonuses such as bad weather might be available depending on varying circumstances. Everyone(excl. students) also get holiday pay and the value of vacation days.

Do Takeaway.com Brand Ambassadors get tips?

You can also earn tips! Some people might tip you in cash at the doors, others might use the app to show their appreciation. If you get tipped at the door, you can pocket it directly. Digital tips will be paid out tax-free at the end of the month.

Do you get sick days at Takeaway.com?

If you get sick – no worries. In Belgium, if you are employed directly by Takeaway.com you will be paid for your first 7 days off sick at 100% of your salary. This decreases once you stay on extended sick leave dependent on the number of days you are off.

If NowJobs is your employer, you are entitled to sick leave based on the number of days you have been working, and must provide a valid medical certificate.

Do you get holiday days at Takeaway.com?

At Takeaway.com you are also entitled to paid holidays as a Brand Ambassador! The amount of days you are entitled to depends on your contract type. If NowJobs is your employer, your holiday pay is calculated on the basis of how much you have worked with us in the past.
