Converting social media traffic into orders on Takeaway.com

With the ability to order food at the click of a button, customers have come to expect quickness and convenience at the very least.

Luckily, that’s not as hard to achieve in modern times as it was a few years ago. There are many ways that you can use your social media accounts to boost your orders. Here are a few:

Set up order buttons on your Instagram stories
For access to this feature, you’ll either need to have at least 10,000 followers or have a verified account. If you don’t have either of these, don’t worry. Instagram is slowly rolling out a feature where you can add “order food” buttons, so keep an eye out.

Let customers know about deals through your restaurant’s social media account
Are there deals happening in your restaurant? Perhaps pizzas are half-price on Tuesdays. Do customers get a free item when they order above a certain amount of money? Let them know.

You can do this by posting about deals and special prices on your Facebook and Instagram accounts. It’s as simple as posting a picture of the relevant dish or prize with a short, exciting caption.

Keep in contact with customers
Strive to ensure that you reply to most of your customers’ comments and interact with them on your posts. This builds a relationship between restaurant and customer, encouraging them to come back for more.

Run small social media competitions
Competitions on your restaurant’s social media accounts do not need to be complicated. You can post a picture of a dish, staff or the restaurant and ask customers to come up with a caption for the image. The winner could get a Takeaway.com voucher if they win. This keeps the tone fun for the customers and serves as a break from purely commercial content.
