Contactless delivery (Coronavirus)
At Takeaway.com we take the recent global developments related to Coronavirus very seriously.
The safety of our customers, drivers and restaurant partners remains our top priority. We are constantly monitoring the situation and are following all instructions from local health authorities.
To enhance the safety of all involved, our drivers now provide contactless delivery. This means all online payment orders will be left at the door, thereby preventing person-to-person contact.
For more information on our Coronavirus response, see our FAQ page below.
How does the contact-free delivery work?
If you chose an online payment method, your order will be delivered without physical contact. This means that the courier will place the delivery bag in front of your door. The courier will then ring your doorbell and step away from your door and wait until you pick up your order.
What if I want to pay cash?
We encourage you to choose an online payment method to avoid physical contact with our couriers in order to further decrease the risks to customers and couriers' safety.
Will my food be left unattended?
Your food delivery will not be unattended at any time. Our couriers are being instructed to place the order in front of your door, ring your doorbell and step away from your door. He / she will wait until you pick up your order to make sure it reaches you safely.
What if I don't want my food to be left on the floor?
We are following strict hygienic measures when it comes to the delivery of your food. Therefore your food will not be in contact with the ground directly. We encourage you to follow the app delivery tracking to know exactly when the food arrives and pick it up immediately after the door bell rings. The couriers are being instructed to place the delivery bag in front of your door, ring your doorbell and step away from your door. He / she will wait until you pick up your order to make sure it reaches you.
Under what circumstances will you stop delivery service?
The safety of our customers and couriers is our top priority. We are constantly monitoring the developments and taking the recommended precautions that apply to the broader society. We are following instructions from the authorities and will act accordingly if they change.
What do you and restaurants do to make sure drivers deliver food safely?
The safety of our customers and drivers is our top priority. We have provided health and safety instructions to all drivers across all countries, and staff members are trained specifically on the correct preventative measures. On top of the hygiene equipment already present in our hubs, we are providing antibacterial hand sanitizer and disinfectant sprays. For our remote drivers, tactical distribution of antibacterial hand sanitisers is currently taking place, based on location, with either central or local distribution or an agreed collection point. Distribution and use of hygienic equipment is being monitored closely to ensure there is a constant supply to our hubs and remote drivers. Protocols for contactless collections/deliveries have also been implemented with immediate effect.
